What is Lunar SEND Consultancy?

Lunar SEND Consultancy supports schools, organisations and families to understand and meet the needs of neurodivergent children and young people. We offer consultancy, training and specialist sleep support grounded in compassion, evidence and reflection — helping every learner and family find calm, clarity and confidence.

Who do you work with?

We work across education, health and care — including schools, multi-academy trusts, local authorities, NHS services and charities. We also support families directly through our specialist sleep service and coaching programmes.

What makes your approach different?

Our work blends professional expertise with lived experience and empathy. Founded by a neurodivergent professional, Lunar brings an authentic understanding of autism, ADHD and neurodiversity. We take a calm, human-centred approach that values listening, reflection and practical, sustainable change.

What does “neuro-affirmative” mean?

A neuro-affirmative approach recognises that neurological differences such as autism and ADHD are part of natural human diversity — not something to “fix.” We help children and families understand differences in communication, processing and energy, and build strategies that celebrate individuality while reducing stress and shame.

What types of support do you offer?

We provide:

  • SEND consultancy for strategic development and inclusion planning
  • Training and CPD for professionals and families
  • Specialist support for children and young people within educational settings, delivered through individualised or group sessions tailored to a range of needs. We commonly assist with understanding ADHD or autism diagnoses, building emotional regulation skills, managing and understanding anxiety, developing effective regulation strategies, coping with exam stress and fostering confidence and resilience—along with many other areas as needed.
  • Specialist sleep support for neurodivergent children and young people
  • Coaching and reflective practice for educators, parents and individuals

Every package is bespoke and aligned to your needs.

Do you only work with neurodivergent children?

No — while we specialise in neurodivergent needs such as autism and ADHD, our approaches benefit all children, families and teams seeking to improve wellbeing, understanding and inclusion.

Can you help children and young people understand their diagnosis?

Yes — this is one of the most common areas we support. We gently guide children and young people to understand what their autism or ADHD diagnosis means for them personally, helping them to see their strengths and develop self-acceptance. This is always delivered through a positive, neuro-affirmative lens.

Do you offer training for families?

Yes. We deliver workshops and webinars for parents and carers on understanding neurodiversity, supporting sleep, emotional regulation, anxiety, and managing everyday challenges. Training is designed to be relatable, practical and empowering. Training for families will be advertised on our website.

What can we expect when working with you?

We start by listening — understanding your context, goals and challenges. Together, we co-create practical strategies and measurable outcomes. You’ll receive clear plans, ongoing reflection points and a final impact summary to evidence change.

Are your services evidence-based?

Yes. Our practice draws from current research, NICE and NHS-aligned frameworks, and the latest insights in neuro-affirmative and trauma-informed care. Every intervention is designed to be ethical, effective and compassionate.

Do you offer online or in-person support?

Both. We offer online consultancy and training nationwide, and in-person support across the Liverpool City Region and surrounding areas.

How can I commission Lunar SEND Consultancy?

Simply email us to discuss your needs. We’ll arrange an initial conversation to understand your goals and design a proposal tailored to your setting or family. Support can be commissioned by the hour, half-day, full-day or as a longer-term project.

What outcomes can we expect?

Our work leads to increased staff confidence, stronger inclusion culture, improved family engagement, and better wellbeing and learning outcomes for children and young people. We help teams and families feel empowered, informed and supported to create lasting change.
