This document is designed to explain, in clear and friendly language, what Lunar SEND Consultancy offers, and the professional boundaries that help keep children, families and the service safe.
1. What We Do
Lunar SEND Consultancy provides non-clinical support for children, young people and families. This includes advice, guidance, training and practical strategies around SEND, neurodiversity and sleep.
Our work focuses on understanding needs, reducing stress and supporting positive change through education and guidance.
2. What We Do Not Do
Lunar SEND Consultancy does not provide:
- Medical diagnoses
- Psychological or psychiatric treatment
- Therapy or clinical interventions
Any support offered does not replace advice or care from doctors, paediatricians, psychologists or other healthcare professionals.
3. Sleep Support
When we offer sleep support, this is provided as practical and educational guidance to help families understand sleep and make changes that may support better rest.
Sleep support is not medical treatment and does not involve diagnosing sleep disorders. Families are encouraged to seek medical advice if they have concerns about health, development or mental wellbeing.
4. No Guaranteed Outcomes
Every child and family is unique. While advice and strategies are shared with care and professionalism, we cannot promise specific outcomes or changes.
This is because many factors influence progress, including:
- Individual needs and development
- Health and emotional wellbeing
- Home and school environments
- Consistency of support across settings
5. Responsibility and Decision-Making
Parents, carers and schools remain responsible for decisions and actions taken following any advice or guidance.
Lunar SEND Consultancy is not responsible for outcomes where advice is adapted, partially used or influenced by factors outside our control.
6. Professional Boundaries
Lunar SEND Consultancy works within clear professional boundaries. We do not:
- Provide personal or intimate care
- Use physical intervention or restraint
- Take unsupervised responsibility for children
All work with children is carried out with appropriate consent and agreed arrangements.
7. Safeguarding
Keeping children safe is a priority. If safeguarding concerns arise, they will be managed in line with safeguarding guidance and shared with the appropriate professionals where necessary.
8. Questions or Concerns
If you have any questions about our work, boundaries or the support offered, we encourage open and respectful communication.
Lunar SEND Consultancy is committed to working collaboratively with families, schools and professionals to support children and young people in a safe, respectful and supportive way.
